Honeybee Homeschool Enrichment Program

In this homeschool enrichment program we merge exploration of the great the outdoors with handwork skill development.

Our Program

Our Honeybee Homeschool Enrichment Program offers flexibly enrollment at either once or twice attendance per week, from 9am to 2pm. We are located in NELA, meeting at either Lower Arroyo Park or the Audubon Center in Montecito Heights.

Our enrichment program focuses largely on nature connection and developing a wide range of handwork skills, based on age/skill appropriateness. An example of the handwork and ancestral skills we explore in depth include sewing, knitting, crochet, natural dye, pattern making and construction, weaving, woodworking, knot-tying skills and more.

We utilize high quality and sustainable sourced materials and always foster a nurturing and respectful relationship with our materials and the lands that we are visitors upon.

Program Costs

1 day/weekly $400 per month

2 days/weekly $800 per month

  • The sheep have given us their wool, the plants their colors bright, and we have shaped our needles out of wood, to knit by golden light. Our fingers that knit and do crochet, can sow a seed and cut the hay, can hammer and nail, and sew a stitch, can cast a seam and dig a ditch. Can create an object of wonder, of beauty, of joy. So let us go to work right now and sew and stitch, both me and thou.
